The Salt Road Festival or Shionomichi Matsuri in Japanese, takes place each year during the long Golden Week holiday. The Salt Road Festival spans 3 days and covers 3 locations &#8211; Otari, Hakuba and Omachi &#8211; as festival goers walk along the old Salt Road, lined with ancient markers and stones, stopping to try local produce along the way, some dressed in costume! This festival marks the old tradition and route of bringing salt from the Japan Sea to central inland Japan. [...] </description>
