During the 2009 Winter Season we had the pleasure of hosting and guiding the crew from UK Snowboard magazine Whitelines on their first snowboarding trip to Japan. The team comprised of Whitelines editor Ed Blomfield, photographer Matt Georges and 4 riders – Josh Wolf, Scott McMorris, Colum Mytton and Swiss miss Anne-Flore Marxer. During the 2010 winter season Whitelines Magazine published their 14 page Japan article and incase you missed issue #88 we thought we’d share it with you right here!
During their trip we guided the crew around Hakuba 47, Happo One and Cortina resorts, as well as building and hitting some backcountry kickers. Everyone lapped up the Japanese style apres scene – bathing in onsens (natural hot springs) for the first time, trying local food and beer. And what did they think of it all? “At the summit, we follow Andy (from Snow Season Japan) off the piste and into the forest. Quite simply, it is the best tree run I’ve ever ridden in my life…” Ed Blomfield, Editor.
